Alte Oper Frankfurt
More than 475,000 visitors at about 450 events per year – classical music and entertainment, programmes for children, teenagers and families, conventions and events: the historical façade of the former Frankfurt Opera House is home to a vibrant concert and congress centre with a clear artistic profile. World stars of classical music – the most renowned international conductors, soloists, ensembles and orchestras – have been regular guests at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, ensuring musical highlights. In addition, the Alte Oper considers itself a centre of programmatic work, maintaining a clear profile by choosing its own focuses, e.g. the »Musikfest« lasting several weeks at the beginning of each season, the »Fokus« festivals interspersed throughout the season, and innovative formats such as the late-night concerts, events crossing borders between genres and art forms, introductory lectures and artist interviews. The venue’s concept, however, also calls for intensive concert experiences for children, teenagers and families. »PEGASUS – Experiencing Music!« is the Alte Oper’s tailored programme of specific concerts and workshops for all ages from 0 to 21 years. And in the popular entertainment sector, the Alte Oper offers its visitors an attractive, diverse programme – featuring performances by internationally renowned artists from the genres of pop, jazz, chanson and world music, complemented by en-suite guest performances of world hit musicals and shows. Last but not least, the Alte Oper Frankfurt enjoys an excellent reputation as a congress centre far beyond the Rhine/Main area, hosting approximately 50 meetings per year.
